View whole chromosome To view a graphical representation of all elements localized to a specified chromosome, first go to the View whole chromosome page. The following entry screen will be shown: ![]() First, select which chromosome you are interested in by placing your mouse over the "Select a chromosome" menu and selecting one of the chromosomes that appear. Next, if you wish to include in the results all genomic elements which have been poorly localized to the chromosome, check the checkbox at the top left of the console. Finally, click on the "Submit button". Poorly localized elements include those with poor support for localization to a chromosome, and those whose mapping interval is substantially large. This will yield a map graphic of all elements localized to the selected chromosome. Warning! Whole chromosome and large regional graphics are very large and could take a long time to load onto your browser. Users with multiple or complex searches may wish instead to download files from the data repository. The graphics are viewed with the java applet Chromoscape, which is an interactive program that works directly on the user's machine and has a number of features for manipulation and viewing of the graphic. For optimal viewing, it is strongly recommended that users read the Chromoscape help sections. |
